OTRC: Miley Cyrus 'one of the greatest musicians,' Snoop says (Poll)

Miley Cyrus is "one of the greatest musicians and personalities of all time," according to Snoop Dogg, also known as Snoop Lion, her duet partner on the new reggae song "Ashtrays and Heartbreaks."

The rapper, a made his comments to MTV News at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, weeks after the track was released.

It is the first major studio release for Cyrus, who rose to fame as the child and teen star of the Disney Channel series "Hannah Montana," since her 2010 album, "Can't Be Tamed." Last year, the actress and pop singer underwent an image transformation -- chopping off her hair, bleaching it platinum blonde and adopting a rocker look.

"She is one of the greatest musicians and personalities of all time," Snoop told MTV News. "People just expect so much from her because they've been watching her whole life as a kid and she's just ready to be an adult and have fun and express herself and I support her."

Snoop adopted the second stage name Snoop Lion after being "born again" as a reggae artist following a visit to Jamaica in February 2012.

"The embracement [of 'Snoop Lion' as a name] is more about my musical change, which is reggae music -- love, peace and happiness, is what I'm embracing. The Lion is more of a comforting zone of that as opposed to the Dogg. Biut I'm still the Dogg when I need to be," Snoop told OTRC.com at the MTV Movie Awards (Watch VIDEO, below).

He told MTV News that both he and Cyrus are "going through a transformation."

"She loves what I do and I really love what she's doing. For us to come together is really bold and courageous but at the same time, it's two great people coming together," he added about their new song.
