Kim Kardashian and estranged husband and NBA player Kris Humphries have reached a divorce settlement and will not face off in a trial as previously planned, OTRC.com has learned.
This marks the end of a court battle that has lasted more than seven times longer than the couple's 72-day marriage. A Los Angeles judge, Hank Goldberg, announced the news in court on Friday, April 19. The terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
Kardashian attended the hearing in person. The judge asked her if there was nothing to be done to save her marriage. She smiled and said no, OTRC.com has learned. Humphries was absent. He also did not attend a hearing last week and was faced with possible sanctions over this, but a hearing over the matter was canceled.
She had filed for divorce on Oct. 31, 2011. The Humphries wanted an annulment, claiming their marriage was a fraud. The pair's ceremony aired in a TV special on E!, which broadcasts Kardashian's family's reality shows.
The actress and socialite, who is currently pregnant with boyfriend Kanye West's child, had denied his accusation and sought a divorce. It will be finalized after a final judgement is entered.
Humphries, who is Kardashian's second husband, has not commented about the settlement. On Thursday, a day before the hearing, he Tweeted, "Couldn't be happier!," without elaborating.
