Ke$ha's upcoming docu-series, "My Crazy Beautiful Life," promises to bring the drama, tears, love and ... burps?
The series will take viewers inside the world of the 26-year-old performer as she faces both personal and professional challenges. The docu-series, which premieres on Tuesday, April 23, was shot by her filmmaker brother, Lagan Sebert.
"[My brother] quit his job, totally just on a prayer, and started filming my life," she told MTV News. "And for the past two and a half years, he's been filming and he has not put down the camera. It's very guerilla, do-it-yourself, kinda-ghetto style. A lot of it has to be subtitled."
In the trailer, the singer can be seen talking about her anxious feelings before big performances, sharing intimate details of her love life, reacting to negative press, "stalking" her ex-boyfriend, sharing an enormous belch, swigging alcohol from the bottle and embracing her fans, whom she refers to as her "Animal$." "Couldn't be more excited to show the world this show. #mycrazybeautifullife," she Tweeted on April 22.
The audience is set to follow the pop star's journey in real time. Ke$ha told MTV News that because her brother is filming, what viewers will see is "real and raw." The series, she says, depicts "everything from breakdowns to triumphs to make outs and mornings after."
While the show promises to debut many of Ke$ha's famed party antics, she told Billboard that fans won't expect to see how serious she takes her stagecraft and recording career.
"I'm very well-known around the world for being a wild party animal -- you see that too, don't get me wrong," she says. "But you also see me ... reading the reviews and trying to make my show better, and rehearsing and going over the lights, and going over the choreography, and changing into costumes. I am so involved with every little thing I do. I think people are probably going to be surprised at how seriously I take everything I do."
The "Blow" singer is set to co-headline a spring tour with Pitbull, which will kick off on May 23 in Boston and wrap on June 28 in Florida. The tour is in support of her third studio album, "Warrior," which features her singles "Die Young," "C'Mon" and "Crazy Kids."
"ANIMAL$! Things are gonna get CRAY tonight on the premiere of "My Crazy Beautiful Life,'" she posted on her official website on April 23.
The singer's series, "Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life," premieres Tuesday, April 23 at 11 p.m. ET and 10 p.m. CT on MTV.
