Angie Guerrero was traveling southbound on the 14 Freeway when she noticed something slithering at her feet.
The worry set in when she realized it was a snake.
"I swerved and good thing the girl next to me was paying attention and she swerved with me," said Guerrero. "This is the first spot I could pull over. I grabbed the dogs and got out of my car."
It took CHP officers and her son-in-law nearly an hour to capture the snake because it kept hiding under the center console.
Officials said the snake was not aggressive and appeared to be a non-venomous king snake.
Guerrero says she has no idea how it got in her car in the first place.
