Zendaya, one of the frontrunners of "Dancing With The Stars" season 16, says she has gained a "big brother" in partner Val Chmerkovskiy.
The 16-year-old singer and actress, who stars on the Disney Channel show "Shake It Up!," made her comments to OTRC.com correspondent JJ Snyder at the Radio Disney Music Awards on Saturday, when asked what she thinks she will take away from her experience on the ABC dancing competition series.
"I'm going to take away the fact that I can actually ballroom dance and I'm going to take away the fact that I'm the ... youngest person and I'm going to take away a big brother, too," Zendaya said, standing alongside Val on the red carpet.
The couple is one of seven remaining pairs left in the competition, which begins its Latin Week on Monday. One duo is expected to be eliminated on Tuesday.
Zendaya and Val, 27, have consistently earned high scores since season 16 began in March. His brother and fellow pro-dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy, a longtime series regular who returned earlier this month to participate in a doubles dance with them, told OTRC.com that Zendaya was "the next Beyonce."
She and Val are among the frontrunners, along with "American Idol" alum Kellie Pickler and partner Derek Hough and Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman and partner Mark Ballas, who was recently injured during a rehearsal.
