Despite her sexy image, Sofia Vergara says she is not usually a "sex kitten" at home ... but she still makes an effort to look the part sometimes.

The 40-year-old actress and "Modern Family" star graces the June 2013 cover of Cosmopolitan magazine. The starlet, who landed at the top of Ask Men's list of "Most Desirable" women of 2012, opened up about her ... bedroom behavior.

"No one can be a sex kitten every day, and anyone who tells you that is lying," Vergara said. "But I do wear negligees and Japanese silk robes."

"For a long time, I lived alone with my son and only saw my boyfriends in a hotel," she continued. "So at home, I slept in old tee shirts. I realized when I moved in with Nick that I couldn't do that. Now, I only keep nice pajamas around, because whatever is there, I'm going to wear."

Vergara recently became engaged to longtime boyfriend and producer Nick Loeb. The actor proposed to the actress during her 40th birthday celebration in Mexico, and her son Manolo Gonzalez documented the eventful day on video (Watch it here).

Vergara told Cosmopolitan that both she and Loeb have had big weddings in the past, adding: "We're going to [have] something but not right now."

Vergara, who portrays the beautiful housewife Gloria Pritchett on ABC's "Modern Family," recently made headlines after she decided to freeze her eggs in anticipation of a future child. The actress' fiance, Loeb, is currently childless, and Vergara explained that she wanted to take measures that would keep the possibility of procreation alive.

Following the actress' procedure, rumors swirled that the pair were about to become parents via a surrogate.

"Well, because I froze my eggs ... I had to go to my doctor's office a hundred million times to do injections," the actress told the magazine. "The [rumor] probably came from that. My doctor had told me 'We have a small window.' I said, 'That's so rude!' I already have a kid, so I never thought I would need to do that. But I will have to use a surrogate, because I had thyroid cancer and lots of radiation. I don't want to wait forever, but not yet, because I'm working like an animal."

Vergara, who is a survivor of thyroid cancer, is known for her numerous roles in films including "Happy Feet Two," "The Smurfs" and "Four Brothers." She is next set to appear in the action drama, "Machete Kills," alongside Mel Gibson, Lady Gaga, Jessica Alba and Alexa Vega.
