Red-flag conditions continue across Southland

TUSTIN, Calif.

Most of Southern California is under red flag or high wind warnings, which are expected to last until Friday evening. The winds were expected to build throughout the day on Thursday, increasing fire danger.

Temperatures reached the 90s in some places in Los Angeles and Orange counties, the Inland Empire and Valleys; 80s in the High Desert; and 60s in the local mountain areas.

Wednesday, strong winds howled through the Antelope Valley, kicking up dust and creating visibility problems in Lancaster.

In the Hollywood Hills, the increased fire danger will affect local parking rules. Parking will be restricted on some of the more narrow streets in order to make space for fire engines. The restrictions were expected to last until 8 a.m. Friday.
