Bethenny Frankel, who has opened up in recent months about her pending divorce from Jason Hoppy, reunited with her former flame over the weekend ... sort of.
The 42-year-old reality personality and Hoppy, who are currently embroiled in a less-than-amicable divorce proceeding, reunited for their daughter Bryn's third birthday party, according to People magazine.
The pair held the party at Dylan's Candy Bar on the Upper East Side of Manhattan on Saturday, May 4. According to the outlet, Hoppy arrived to the gathering with his parents, Carol and Bob Hoppy, and a source said that "Bryn was very happy to see them."
The source added that while the pair were both in attendance at the birthday party, they did not interact. Guests at the intimate gathering dined on cookies and cake.
On April 30, Frankel opened up to People magazine about the pair's high-profile split, explaining that while she hoped to "amicably co-parent" their daughter Bryn initially, it's proving to be a challenge.
"I really did think it would be amicable. I absolutely did," she said. "I wrote that entire statement myself. And every single word, I believed to be true."
The actress and author, who is currently in divorce negotiations, admitted that she sometimes wonders how she was so "off the mark."
"Someone said to me recently, 'We see what we want to see.' And I guess, at the time, that's what I did," she says. "The truth of the matter is, you go with your gut at the time. Whatever I'm going through now, I'm certain that I'll learn something from it. When the clouds pass, I will figure out what the silver lining was."
Frankel and Hoppy wed in March 2010 and Frankel gave birth to the couple's first child, a daughter named Bryn, in May 2010. Frankel's pregnancy and wedding were chronicled in the series "Bethenny Getting Married?" It was the second marriage for Frankel. The couple announced their separation in late December 2012.
Frankel, who has developed a line of cocktail beverages under the Skinnygirl brand, is also New York Times best-selling author with diet and self-help books like "A Place of Yes." The Skinnygirl chef also signed a three-book fiction deal with Touchstone Fireside and released her first fiction book called "Skinnydipping" last year.
