As "Iron Man" continues to destroy the box office, can any movie knock it out of the top spot? Nope, not even the retelling of a classic American novel starring Leonardo DiCaprio -- it's "The Great Gatsby."
Tobey Maguire is a writer drawn to New York City's glitz and glamour in the midst of the Roaring Twenties. He's pulled into the tangled world of the super elite, thanks to his rich and mysterious neighbor Jay Gatsby (played by DiCaprio).
The Reel Deal: Well in classic Baz Luhrmann style, it's what you might imagine a unicorn barfing up a rainbow would look like. It may be Gatsby, but it's far from great. I'm out.
The vacation is over in "Aftershock." A group of American tourists are caught in an underground nightclub in Chile when a massive earthquake hits and finding a way out is the least of their worries.
The Reel Deal: There's an audience for this movie, but they're mostly in prison. I'm out.
It's a family reunion to remember in Tyler Perry's "Peeples." When the schlubby Craig Robinson crashes the Peeples' fancy shindig in the Hamptons to ask for their daughter's hand in marriage, things don't really go so well with the parents. Also starring are Kerry Washington and David Alan Grier. The Reel Deal: Lazy, dumb and completely unoriginal. You've already met the parents, so why pay to meet the Peeples? I'm out.
