Kate Upton has nabbed another high profile cover -- the U.S. edition of Vogue.
The two-time Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover girl graces the cover of Vogue's June 2013 issue. This is the first time Upton has been featured on the cover of the U.S. edition of the fashion magazine and the 20-year-old talked about some of the criticism she's received over her curvaceous figure.
Part of the magazine's interview with Upton took place during a session with her trainer. The interviewer talked about the criticism sparked by her 2013 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover, which featured Upton showing off her cleavage and midsection wearing an unzipped parka. According to the magazine, some commented that Upton looked "fat" on the cover.
The Sports Illustrated cover was not the first time Upton was criticized for her figure. In July 2012, a "pro-skinny" site called Upton "lardy."
"It was hard at first," she told the magazine about hearing the criticism. "You sit there and you're like 'Is something wrong with me?' "
"The things that they're rejecting are things that I can't change. I can't change my bra size. They're natural! I can work out and I can stay healthy and motivated, but I can't change some things. I really just live my life," Upton added. "I love my body. It's what God gave me! I feel confident with myself, and if that inspires other women to feel confident with their bodies, great."
The magazine also interviewed Upton's sister Christie, who recalled a time when Upton was younger and she would "stuff her bra."
"We all did -- with tissue paper or socks," Christie added.
Upton told the magazine that right before she turned 15, she grew several inches to 5 feet 10 inches and matured physically. The model also talked about keeping up with fans through social media and choosing a different path than most models to gain a following.
She became an overnight internet celebrity in 2011 when a video of her doing the dance "the Dougie" at a Clipper's game went viral. In May 2012, Upton scored another viral video when she appeared in a video from a photo shoot with photographer Terry Richardson. The video featured Upton dancing to The Rej3ctz's "Cat Daddy" clad only in a bikini.
"It's just me sharing my life," the model told Vogue about using Twitter. "I like it if it's authentic and in the moment and happening."
She added that growing up "I didn't buy the magazines that had models on the covers, because I didn't know them. So I think this kind of gives me, as a model, a personality that people can connect with."
Upton's issue of Vogue hits newsstands on May 21.
