"Dancing With The Stars" pro Karina Smirnoff was recently hospitalized after suffering an injury while practicing with celebrity partner and NFL star Jacoby Jones and is still scheduled to dance on the ABC show on Monday, May 13, OTRC.com has learned.
Smirnoff had landed on her jaw while practicing a flip with Jones during a rehearsal on Sunday, as seen in a clip obtained by OTRC.com. She was later taken to a medical center in Los Angeles as a precaution, an ABC rep said.
"Hey guys! I did go2 the hospital +am still a bit sore but I'm going 2 b ok+ not dancing isn't an option," Smirnoff said on Twitter. "Excited4 2night +LOVE our dances."
Smirnoff and Jones are among five remaining pairs competing for the season 16 Mirror Ball trophy. The other four are "Shake It Up!" star Zendaya and Val Chmerkovskiy, Olympic medalist Aly Raisman and Mark Ballas, "American Idol" alum Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough and "General Hospital" actor Ingo Rademacher and Kym Johnson.
"Dancing With The Stars" - 300th episode
The five couples will perform two routines each on Monday's show. Last week, viewers chose one of their dances via Twitter. The pairs' second dance will be a ballroom or Latin style routine they have not yet performed.
Tuesday's results show marks the 300th episode of "Dancing With The Stars" and will feature performances from the pop group The Wanted, who will perform the song "Fill A Heart" as well as from pop singer Avril Lavigne, who will sing her new single, "Here's To Never Growing Up."
