Alright, so after weeks of rumors and speculation, here's the official plan for "The Voice."
Original coaches Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green WILL return to the NBC singing contest series for season 5 this fall, as scheduled, NBC announced in a statement obtained by OTRC.com on Friday, May 17.
Their current temporary replacements, Shakira and Usher, will replace them again in season 6 in early 2014, after the Winter Olympics. Veteran coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will star in both, as will host Carson Daly.
"I am so thrilled that our 'Voice' family has grown from four coaches to six," said executive producer Mark Burnett. "The coaching panel of Christina, CeeLo, Adam and Blake was at the heart of this show in its first three seasons and we are so lucky to have found equal success with Shakira and Usher in season 4. Our best seasons are ahead of us."
Aguilera and CeeLo announced theirexit from "the Voice" last year after serving as coaches alongside Levine and Shelton and also signaled they would return. Aguilera took time off to concentrate on her music, while Green performed in his own Las Vegas show and inked a deal for a TBS reality series, "The CeeLo Life," which will premiere in 2014.
