Police say two officers were patrolling in the area of Prager Avenue and Hoyt Street around 9 p.m. Friday, when they came across two men who started running away from them.
They say one of the suspects was armed, and when he pointed a gun at police, the officers shot him.
The man was taken to the hospital, where he is recovering and facing weapons charges. The other suspect was taken into custody.
The officers were not hurt.
