OTRC: Zach Galifianakis bought what with 'Hangover' money? (Video)

Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis discuss 'The Hangover: Part III' to OTRC.com at a May 2013 press junket.

No matter how "The Hangover III" performs at the box office, the Wolf Pack is still reaping the benefits of being part of one of the most successful comedy film franchises.

Zach Galifianakis, an alternative comic and actor known for his dry sense of humor -- especially during interviews, and his "Hangover" "Wolf Pack" co-stars Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms spoke to OTRC.com about the new film and how the series has changed their lives. The first two movies made a total of more than $1 billion worldwide.

"Speaking of financially secure," Galifianakis told OTRC.com, "For me, what happened was that it was just so great that I could afford -- which was my dream -- to own a stretch Mini Cooper. Which was just a normal-sized car. So that's what's great for me, personally."

The 43-year-old actor reprises the role of Alan, an eccentric character who is also comically concerned with material possessions. In 2011, Louis Vuitton famously sued Warner Bros. over a scene in "The Hangover Part II," in which Galifianakis carries a piece of luggage marked LVM." The French fashion house lost the lawsuit in 2012.

"Careful, that's a Lewis ... that is a Lewis Vuitton," Alan states in the film.

While chatting with OTRC.com, Galifianakis later put aside humor after learning that the late actress Phyllis Diller had enjoyed watching a DVD of his stand-up routine, which cheered her in her final days.

"Wow... that's crazy," Galifianakis said. "Not to be too corny, but for me, it really is a lot about hearing people laugh. Really, as a comic, is the thing, the sound of it, without sounding too corny, makes me feel so good inside as a human being. It just does. It's just fun to hear."

"The Hangover Part III," which stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis as three friends battling danger and the effects of inebriation in Las Vegas, was released on Thursday, May 23.
