Amanda Bynes is involved in yet ANOTHER Twitter trade-off. Brace yourselves.
The 27-year-old starlet, who was recently arrested on suspicion of criminal pot possession, was singled out on Twitter for her recent erratic behavior by one famous celebrity: Courtney Love.
The rocker, who has battled substance abuse and numerous arrests in her past, took to the social media platform to offer the young actress some words of advice.
"@AmandaBynes pull it together dude." Love Tweeted on May 27.
Bynes, who is known for her strong presense on the micro-blogging website, then responded to a Tweet that E! Online posted about the famed rocker's comment.
"@eonline Courtney Love is the ugliest woman I've ever seen. To be mentioned by her at all makes me and all my friends laugh!" she posted on May 28.
The exchange seemed to get heated, even catching the attention of a certain talk show host and actor.
"My largest spit-take since 1988. Thank you Courtney," Joel McHale posted, along with a re-Tweet of Love's original message.
While some took Love's Tweet as a sarcastic insult, the singer continued to post, clearing up what she meant in her original message.
"Amanda, I wasn't attacking you love. I've been in your shoes before, wasn't easy. DM me, let's talk. Ignore the haters," she posted.
"Will you people lay off on giving this girl such grief?" she continued in a separate Tweet. "Shes a beautiful talented young woman, we all go through our ups and downs. grow up!"
Love is known for her own troubled past, having been arrested through the years on a number of differing charges, including reckless endangerment and third-degree assault.
In 2003, Love admitted that she overdosed on the painkiller OxyContin, saying that her daughter Frances Bean Cobain -- who was 11 at the time -- helped her through the "little crises." In 2004, she faced drug possession charges for prescription painkillers Oxycodone and Hydrocodone.
The singer has said on an April 4 episode of ABC's "The View" that she is sober and also uses Ambien as a sleep aid.
The exchange comes only days after Bynes reportedly slammed Rihanna on the social networking website. The actress, who supposedly told the singer that "Chris Brown beat her" because "she wasn't pretty enough," denies posting the offensive messages, saying that one of her many followers probably "mocked up" the "fake Tweets."
Amanda Bynes' recent timeline of troubles
On May 23, Bynes was arrested after allegedly throwing a bong out of a window on suspicion of criminal pot possession and tampering with evidence. Shortly following the arrest, the "Hairspray" actress Tweeted that she does not do drugs and has "never had a bong" before.
Bynes went on to Tweet a very serious claim regarding an NYPD officer only a few days later, posting: "Don't believe the reports about me being arrested. It's all lies. I was sexually harassed by one of the cops the night before last which is who then arrested me" (Read her full claim).
