The top 8 finalists of NBC's "The Voice" chatted with OTRC.com recently and discussed their strategies for winning season 4. (May 27, 2013)
Seven out of the eight have pretty much the same tactic -- staying true to who they are and being themselves.
The top 8 are pictured above, clockwise from the top left. Here is the full breakdown of their winning strategies:
1. Holly Tucker (Team Blake)
"I think it's just going to take being myself 'cause I think it's the only way, it's the only honorable way to go about winning this show, is just completely being who you are and I'm learning to not be afraid of that." (Watch the full interview with Holly Tucker.)
2. Sasha Allen (Team Shakira)
"What's it's gonna take to win? I guess I just have to keep being myself. That's all I can really do. Yeah, there's no specific plan. Just don't get sick. Yeah, how about that, right? Don't get sick." (Watch the full interview with Sasha Allen.)
3. Michelle Chamuel (Team Usher)
"That's a question I wonder about, because what I think what's kept me here this whole time is being myself. So I just gotta have -- and Usher's drilled this into me too -- it's like, 'Trust your instincts,' so I'm gonna have to really, be able to find that quiet place among all this and tune out the 'What should I do, what do I need to ... ' and just figure out, like, who I am and what I need to do that's best for me ... I trust that whatever is truly best for me will be best in general, whether that's staying on or not staying on. But I wouldn't want to force anything. But as long as it's happening, I'm very grateful for it." (Watch the full interview with Michelle Chamuel.)
4. Danielle Bradbery (Team Blake)
"It's going to take a lot of hard work and every performance I do, it just needs to be perfect every time." (Watch the full interview with Danielle Bradbery.)
5. Amber Carrington (Team Adam)
"I think just stepping it up each week even more than you did before and just being yourself and being confident." (Watch the full interview with Amber Carrington.)
6. Judith Hill (Team Adam)
"Oh man, I dunno. I just gotta be true to me, do my best every week, make sure I'm having a good time and ... That's all I really can do." Watch the full interview with Judith Hill.)
7. The Swon Brothers -- Zach and Colton (Team Blake)
Colton: "We are going to have to get rid of some of the females on this show."
Zach: (Laughs) "Man, at right now that seems so impossible. There's so many good singers. It's just hard to even think that way."
Colton: "A lot of estrogen floating around here. They're awesome, they deserve to be here."
Zach: "We just gotta be ourselves every week and stay true to who we are and I think that's going to take you further than anything." Watch the full interview with the Swon Brothers.)
8. Sarah Simmons (Team Adam)
"Dig deeper, try even harder, work even harder ... I think what keeps you getting through is to keep being yourself and to never lose yourself in the wrong ways and to just release, release your heart and everything you have."
