Bus driver attacked in Compton; man sought

COMPTON, Calif.

The attack happened around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. According to detectives, the man got on the bus and struggled to put his money into the fare box.

When the 53-year-old male bus driver pulled away from the curb, the suspect allegedly began punching the driver. There were six to 10 passengers on board.

The driver stopped the bus in the middle of Central Avenue during the assault and opened the door. The man then got off the bus and fled eastbound on 156th Street. The driver suffered minor injuries.
