OTRC: Channing Tatum says 'I'm a fat kid on the inside'

Channing Tatum and his wife, Jenna Dewan, talk to OTRC.com at the 2013 Oscars on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013.

Channing Tatum, aka People Magazine's 2012 Sexiest Man Alive, wants you to know that he loves junk food just as much most people probably do.

The 33-year-old "Magic Mike" star spoke to Cosmopolitan magazine for its July issue and revealed, "I'm a fat kid on the inside. I love food so much, and I fluctuate about 25 to 30 pounds between movies."

"I feel like I have to do a chess movie that requires very little movement at some point, just so I can eat pizza and play chess on the beach all day," the buff star, who briefly worked as a stripper in Florida, added. "And then eat more pizza and cheese-burgers and drink beer. That'd be amazing. I'd give anything for that. I gotta figure that movie out."

Tatum and his wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum are currently expecting their first child together. The couple met on the set of their film "Step-Up" in 2006 and wed in 2009. When asked how they've managed to make their relationship last, Tatum told the magazine, "You have to want it."

"Jenna's and my thing is checking in with each other all the time, like 'On a scale from 1 to 10, how much do you love me right now?' And you gotta be honest," he said. "And you've got to want an honest answer."

The magazine calls Tatum one of the "most approachable celebrities around" and the actor chalks that up to his friends keeping him grounded and making fun of him.

"It's embarrassing to tell you how much my friends make fun of me. Seriously, when you have a doll made of your face, it's ridiculous how creative your friends can get ... pictures, videos, little animated cartoons that they've made," he said. "And they're way, way not PG-13. So I get chopped down to size all the time."

Last year, Tatum told new outlets that he planned on taking a break from acting in order to write and produce a few film projects he's had on his mind for a while. However, Tatum fans have a while to go before the actor takes a temporary break from the big screen. He will, or already has, appeared in six films this year including "Side Effects" and "G.I. Joe: Retaliation."

He also makes a cameo appearance in Joseph Gordon Levitt's directorial debut "Don Jon," he plays a version of himself in the upcoming comedy "This Is the End" and he stars in the upcoming action film "White House Down."

In addition to that, he also has three films slated for release next year, including the sequel to the hit comedy "21 Jump Street."
