Ryan Allen West, 33, pleaded no contest to sexually assaulting five women between the ages of 20 and 50 while he was on duty and in uniform, the L.A. County District Attorney's Office said. The incidents occurred between October 2006 and May 2007.
A female rape victim went to a hospital in 2007 and reported that she was raped by a police officer. A subsequent investigation revealed four more victims.
West pleaded no contest to two counts of rape and three counts of penetration with a foreign object involving five women. In exchange for West's no-contest plea, Judge George Lomeli dismissed 37 other counts against West.
West was the Maywood Police Department's K-9 officer. He left the department in March 2008.
