Arcadia bank robbery attempt: Man claimed to have bomb - police

ARCADIA, Calif.

The suspect walked into the Citibank branch at 100 South First Avenue around 1:20 p.m. Monday, approached a teller and allegedly demanded cash. Arcadia police said he showed the teller a small black case and claimed it contained a bomb which he would detonate if the bank worker didn't comply.

According to police, the teller said the suspect grew impatient and appeared nervous, and then walked out of the bank without any cash.

The suspect was described as a white male, between 23 and 30 years old, standing 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. He has brown hair and was wearing a red long-sleeve sweater and tan baggy shorts.
