L.A. County Sheriff's investigators and U.S. Marshals Task Force detectives were conducting a surveillance operation on the 16400 block of Quarter Horse Road in Moreno Valley Thursday.
A parolee at large was suspected of cultivating marijuana for sale. Parolee Luc An, 43, was seen exiting the residence. He was then arrested for a parole violation and for cultivating marijuana for sale. Deputies searched the residence and found a large concealed marijuana-grow operation.
Numerous ultraviolet lights and water pumps were found along with 417 marijuana plants, estimated to be worth more than $1.5 million. The hydroponic growing equipment was estimated to be worth $100,000.
Two other suspects, Eddie Tran, 21, and Johnny Yuen, 22, both from the San Gabriel Valley, were subsequently arrested. They were held on $50,000 bail. An was held without bail.
