OTRC: Mumford & Sons' Ted Dwane having brain surgery, 3 dates postponed

Mumford & Sons musician Ted Dwane has been hospitalized in order to undergo emergency surgery to remove a blood clot on his brain, prompting the group to postpone several sold-out concerts.

The Grammy-winning British folk band announced the news on its website on Tuesday, June 11.

"Our friend and bandmate Ted has been feeling unwell for a few days, and yesterday he was taken to a hospital to receive emergency treatment," the group said. "The scans revealed a blood clot on the surface of his brain that requires an operation. Ted is receiving excellent care and we are being assured that he will recover quickly from surgery."

The postponed tour dates are set to be rescheduled. The list goes as follows:

1. June 11 - Dallas, Texas - Gexa Energy Pavilion
2. June 12 - The Woodlands, Texas - Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion
3. June 13 - New Orleans, Louisiana - Mardi Gras World

Mumford & Sons added in its statement that there are "no plans to cancel or postpone any other appearances along this current tour." The group, which performed in Texas last week, is later this month set to perform in Tennessee, Kansas and Colorado and afterwards, head to the United Kingdom, Japan and Canada. The band has more U.S. gigs scheduled for September.
