Alfonso Ribeiro of "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air" has a new gig, and unfortunately, it doesn't involve his signature dance move.
The 41-year-old actor and television personality is set to host a new ABC Family television series, "Spell-Mageddon," according to a Tuesday, June 11 announcement by the network.
The one hour game show will aim to put a "fresh spin" on the classic idea of a spelling bee, having contestants take on hilarious distractions while spelling increasingly challenging words.
The series, which is set to begin production on Monday, June 17, will join ABC Family's Wednesday night comedy line-up -- airing directly after "Melissa and Joey" and "Baby Daddy."
The show is slated to premiere on Wednesday, July 24 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
The actor is best known for his role as Carlton Banks on the famed 1990s television series "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air." On May 24, Ribeiro joined Will Smith on stage during an appearance on "The Graham Norton Show" -- and yes, they did their popular dance to "Jump On It!" by the Sugar Hill Gang (See video).
He also recently attended the premiere of Smith's new sci-fi film, "After Earth," which stars Smith's son Jaden Smith. Check out PHOTOS from the star-studded premiere.
