Tish Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus, the parents of Miley Cyrus, are calling it quits.
Tish filed for divorce from Billy Ray on Thursday, June 12, according to People magazine.
"This is a personal matter and we are working to find a resolution that is in the best interest of our family. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time," Tish said in a statement to the magazine.
Billy Ray released his own statement to the news outlet saying, "This is a personal matter and we are doing what is in the best interest of our family. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time."
News of the filing comes three years after Billy Ray had filed his own divorce papers in 2010. The couple later reconciled and Billy Ray withdrew his divorce petition in 2011.
He told the hosts of "The View" during an interview at the time, "I've dropped the divorce ... I want to put my family back together... things are the best they've ever been."
According to the People magazine report, Tish is seeking primary physical and legal custody of the couple's 13-year-old daughter Noah.
Miley Cyrus posted a Tweet on Thursday, June 12, directed at her father that said, "@billyraycyrus since your text and email obviously aren't working would you like to talk like this?"
Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus have been married since December 1993. Together the couple has five children. The country singer also has a son, 20-year-old Christopher, from a previous relationship.
