Oxnard marijuana-grow bust nets $3.5M in pot, 2 arrests

OXNARD, Calif.

After a month-long investigation, police served a search warrant at a warehouse in the 2200 block of Statham Boulevard around 10 a.m.

During the search, detectives found over 1,000 pot plants and 20 pounds of dried marijuana, worth an estimated $3.5 million. Numerous ultraviolet lights, water pumps, air filters and growing materials were also found.

Brandon Cowgill, 27, of Ventura and Julia Danilkevich, 29, of Los Angeles were arrested at the scene and charged with suspicion of cultivating marijuana and with conspiracy.

Cowgill was booked on a third charge of possession of marijuana for sales. Both are being held at the Ventura County Jail on $250,000 bail.
