Officers responded to a call of a shooting in the 2100 block of North Mount Vernon Avenue around 3:45 a.m. and found a man killed by gunfire.
The victim, identified as a black male in his early 30s, suffered a fatal gunshot wound to his upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was not immediately released.
The investigation is ongoing. The motive for the shooting was not determined.
