Good news, Cory and Topanga fans, the "Boy Meets World" spinoff, "Girl Meets World," has been picked up for a full season.

The Disney Channel announced the news in a statement obtained by OTRC.com on Monday, June 17. The new multi-camera comedy series depicts the lives of the 1990s TV couple Cory and Topanga Matthews, played by Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel, as parents to a young girl named Riley, portrayed by Rowan Blanchard, who is 11 and previously appeared in the movie "Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D."

Congratulations to @BenSavage!" Fishel said on her Twitter page. "C & T have always had a beautiful story & I can't wait 4 everyone to see the life they have created together."

"Girl Meets World" is scheduled to premiere in 2014 and production starts later this summer. The show is set in New York City and is told from a "tween girl's perspective," the Disney Channel said in a statement. Sabrina Carpenter, who is 14 and starred on the Disney Junior show "Sofia the First," plays her best friend, Maya.

"As the curious and bright seventh grader, Riley, and her quick-witted friend Maya embark on an unforgettable middle school experience," it said. "But their plans for a carefree year will be adjusted slightly under the watchful eyes of Riley's dad who's also a faculty member (and their new History teacher) and Riley's mom who owns a trendy afterschool hangout that specializes in pudding."

The Disney Channel has not announced whether or not "Boy Meets World" alums William Daniels (Mr. Feeny), Will Friedle (Eric Matthews) and Rider Strong (Shawn Hunter) will also star on "Girl Meets World" in some capacity.

Three months ago, Daniels was seen in an Instagram photo posted by Fishel, while Blanchard shared a picture of Friedle and Strong on the set. The latter actor told E! Online recently that he has been in talks to possibly make a guest appearance.

Also, "Sister, Sister" alum Jackee Harry is also set to star on the pilot of "Girl Meets World." It is unclear if she will appear on more episodes and her role has not been announced.

"Yay! Jackee! I can't wait to work w/ you again in the future! xx," Carpenter Tweeted on Monday.

'Looking fwd to it, hunny bunny! xox," Harry replied.
