Chris Brown's new video for his single "Don't Think They Know" features the voice (and a projection) of the late singer Aaliyah.
The mostly black and white video opens with a quote that says, "Every two hours in America today a child dies of a gunshot wound." It is followed by, "Unity is what we are afraid of so fear is insanity, lets love each other." The quote is credited to "Not CB, just Christopher."
The video, which can be seen below, then shows the 24-year-old singer in Los Angeles trying to unite members of rival gangs. There are also shots of Brown dancing in a warehouse setting with projections of Aaliyah from music videos like "Try Again" in the background. Aaliyah's vocals can be heard throughout the track.
The song also features Brown singing a couple of lines from Jon B's 1998 song "They Don't Know." The clip ends with the text that reads, "Dear Aaliyah, We love and miss you, thank you for inspiring us all."
Aaliyah was killed along with several other people on August 25, 2001, when a small passenger plane they were traveling on crashed after taking off from an island in the Bahamas. The singer had been filming the music video for the song "Rock the Boat" in the Abaco islands.
On June 13, Brown Tweeted that "Don't Think They Know" was part of a larger campaign.
"The new single is apart of my "UNITY CAMPAIGN" which encourages all races, genders, sexes, (everyone) gay or straight to love each other," he wrote.
"Don't Think They Know" is off Brown's forthcoming album "X," which goes on sale on July 16. Check out the video below.
