Pierce Brosnan's daughter Charlotte has died at age 41 after battling ovarian cancer.
Her mother, Cassandra Harris, had also succumbed to the disease in 1991, at age 43. Charlotte died on June 28, the 60-year-old Irish actor said in a statement obtained by OTRC.com on Monday.
"She was surrounded by her husband Alex, children Isabella and Lucas and brothers Christopher and Sean," he said. "Charlotte fought her cancer with grace and humanity, courage and dignity. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful dear girl. We pray for her and that the cure for this wretched disease will be close at hand soon. We thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences."
Brosnan, who starred in four James Bond films, had adopted Charlotte and Christopher after marrying Harris and after their father passed away in 1986. The two actors, who both appeared in the TV show "Remington Steele," later welcomed son Sean.
Brosnan also has two sons with current wife Keely Shaye Smith.
