Busy Philipps and her husband, Marc Silverstein, welcomed their second daughter on Tuesday, July 2, according to reports.
The 34-year-old "Cougar Town" star and her daughter are "healthy and happy," the actress' spokesperson told People magazine on Wednesday, July 3. The baby girl weighed in at 8.5 pounds. No other details were released.
On Wednesday, Philipps tweeted a black and white photo of herself with the newborn with the funny caption, "So this happened..."
Philipps and Silverstein, a screenwriter, are already parents to a 4-year-old daughter named Birdie Leigh. The couple wed in 2007. Philipps confirmed her second pregnancy in December by Tweeting a photo of a positive pregnancy test tick with the same caption "So this happened..."
Philipps is known for her work in films such as "White Chicks" and "Home Room," as well as shows such as "Dawson's Creek" and her current project, "Cougar Town."
In March, TBS announced it renewed "Cougar Town" for a fifth season, consisting of 13 episodes that will debut in 2014. The show, which was originally an ABC series, moved to TBS for its fourth season.
"'Cougar Town' has been everything we hoped it would be: a smart, big-hearted, laugh-out-loud comedy that shines a bright light on the TBS brand," Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies (TCM), said in a statement. "This season, the brilliant cast and immensely creative production team on 'Cougar Town' have crafted their best episodes yet, and we couldn't be happier inviting them back for more."
