Hip hop artist Lil Twist, 20, has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of pot after being stopped while driving Justin Bieber's 2012 Fisker car.
He and Bieber, 19, have not commented. Police say he was pulled over at about 3:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 11, in Calabasas, near Los Angeles. Bieber lives in a home in a gated community there.
"In the early morning hours on Thursday, July 11, 2013, A Malibu/Lost Hills Station deputy saw a vehicle speeding and run a red light at the intersection of Parkway Calabasas and Camino Portal, Calabasas," the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesperson said in a statement obtained by OTRC.com.
"The deputy initiated a traffic stop for the violations and contacted 20-year-old Christopher Moore, who was arrested and transported to Malibu/Lost Hills Station. Moore was booked for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs and is being held in lieu of $5,000 bail."
Authorities say Moore was driving between 60 and 70 mph. The speed limit in the area is 30 mph, due to construction, the Associated Press reported, adding that invstigators think the rapper was under the influence of marijuana. Cannabis is legal in California if used for medicinal purposes. It is unclear if Lil Twist has a doctor's prescription.
