A search is underway to catch a residential cat burglary suspect in Torrance, and officials hope a composite sketch will help track him down.

Investigators say a 70-year-old resident woke up early July 7 and found the suspect in his house last week, holding a baseball bat. The victim's home was located in the 1300 block of Beech Avenue.

Police say the homeowner wrestled the bat away from the intruder, who got away. The victim described the suspect as possibly a teenager, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, clean shaven with short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a teal shirt and shorts.

If you recognize the suspect, you're urged to call the Torrance Police Department at (310) 618-5581.
