Lea Michele is talking about Cory Monteith for the first time in her own words on Twitter since the actor's death earlier this month.
Michele, who appeared on "Glee" with Monteith and was also dating the actor at the time, talked about Monteith's death in a brief tweet she posted on July 29.
"Thank you all for helping me through this time with your enormous love & support. Cory will forever be in my heart," she wrote and included an undated photo of herself and Monteith smiling at the camera. The photo she posted can be seen above.
Monteith was found dead in a hotel room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in downtown Vancouver on July 13. He was 31 years old at the time of his death. The British Columbia Coroner's Service reported on July 16 that the actor died "of a mixed drug toxicity, involving heroin and alcohol."
Last week, the cast and crew of "Glee" held a memorial in honor of Monteith. It was organized by series creator Ryan Murphy and Michele. Murphy revealed in several media interviews, including one with TV Line, that the third episode of the upcoming fifth season will likely deal with Monteith's tribute and the death of his character, Finn. The show is set to return on Sept. 26.
On July 18, Monteith's "Glee" co-star Jane Lynch spoke about his death and said, "He was a really bright light in our family and we've lost a really great guy."
Monteith was also mourned by his other co-stars. Check out their reactions as well as videos of five of our favorite Cory Monteith red carpet moments.
