OTRC: Usher to keep custody of his sons, judge dismisses motion

Usher will get to keep primary custody of his two young sons after an Atlanta judge dismissed an emergency request by the singer's ex-wife seeking temporary custody their children, according to ABC News.

Tameka Foster Raymond requested the hearing earlier this week after their 5-year-old son, Usher Raymond V, got his arm stuck in a pool drain after trying to retrieve a toy. At the time of the accident, the child was in the care of the singer's aunt.

Both Usher and Raymond took the stand, according to The Associated Press. Fulton County Superior Court Judge John Goger dismissed Raymond's request for temporary primary custody and decision-making authority.

Usher and Raymond reportedly hugged after the ruling, according to ABC News. When asked after the trial if he had anything to say, Usher replied, "I just want what's best for my babies."

The former couple wed in 2007 and divorced two years later. Usher and his ex-wife are also parents to a 4-year-old son named Naviyd Ely Raymond. Usher was first awarded primary custody of the two boys last year after a long custody battle.

In July 2012, Raymond's son from a previous relationship, Kile Glover, died at age 11 after being involved in a Jet Ski accident.
