Ventura home-invasion robbery suspect sought

VENTURA, Calif.

Ventura police said the male suspect entered an apartment in the 100 block of South Garden Street through an unlocked sliding glass door around 10:20 p.m. A man sleeping in his bedroom woke up and found the suspect standing over him, threatening him with a weapon and demanding money, according to police.

The suspect took property belonging to the victim and ran out of the apartment. Officers responded and searched the apartment complex and surrounding neighborhoods, but they didn't find him.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect was described as a white man, between 21 and 24 years old. He was wearing a white and gray shirt and khaki pants during the robbery. He also had a green bandana covering his face.

Investigators continue to look into the incident. Anyone with information regarding the robbery was urged to call the Ventura Police Department at (805) 339-4441.
