OTRC: Prince William talks son: 'He's a little bit of a rascal' (Video)

Prince William spoke candidly about life as a new father to his son with wife Kate Middleton as part of a new CNN interview "Prince William's Passion: New Father, New Hope" set to air Sept. 15.

The Duke of Cambridge, who welcomed son Prince George on July 22 (see the royal birth certificate), spoke to CNN's Max Foster about what his life has been like since the birth of his son, what his initial fears were as a father and how he sees a lot of himself and brother Prince Harry in the lively newborn. A preview of the interview can be seen below.

"He's a little bit of a rascal, I'll put it that way," William told CNN. "He either reminds me of my brother or me when I was younger, I'm not sure, but he's doing very well at the moment. He's growing quite quickly actually. But he's a little fighter. He wriggles around quite a lot and he doesn't want to go to sleep that much."

Prince William also spoke about being the first to change his son's diaper, considering it a "badge of honor," and while his wife, son and dog Lupo remain his biggest life priorities, the new dad is eager to get back to work.

"Well, as a few fathers might know, I'm actually quite looking forward to going back to work, to get some sleep. So I'm just hoping the first few shifts I go back I don't have any night jobs."

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been documented extensively since tying the knot in April 2011 and while interest in the couple's life only intensified with Kate's pregnancy, William revealed he was more than happy to share with the world the joy he and Kate shared for the birth of their son as they left St. Mary's Hospital in London following George's birth.

"I think more shock was the feeling I felt, but I was on such a high anyway, and so was Catherine, about George that really we were happy to show him off to whoever wanted to see him. As any new parent knows, you're only so happy to show off your new child and, you know, proclaim that he is the best looking or the best everything. It's nice that people want to see George. I'm just glad he wasn't screaming his head off the whole way through."

Despite being second in line to the British throne, Prince William is adamant about doing as much as he can to make being a father to son George as normal as possible, telling CNN that in addition to driving his young family home from the hospital following the birth, he plans to do things as a father his way.

"I am as independent as I want to be, same as Catherine and Harry. We've all grown up differently to other generations and I very much feel if that I can do it myself, I want to do it myself. There are times where you can't do it yourself and the system takes over, or it's appropriate to do things differently. But I think driving your son and your wife away from the hospital was really important to me."
