The members of One Direction made their third appearance on the "Today" show on Friday, Aug. 23, and talked about band member Zayn Malik's recent engagement and more.

According to the show, the boy band performed their hits "What Makes You Beautiful," "Kiss You" and "Best Song Ever" in front of a crowd of 18,000 people in New York City, just outside the "Today" show studios in Rockefeller Plaza. Video of their appearance can be seen below.

It was reported on Wednesday that Malik and his girlfriend Perrie Edwards, both 20, are engaged. The news was confirmed by Edwards' brother and mother and a rep for One Direction.

"There's not much to say. We're engaged, we're really happy and yeah, that's it," Malik said when asked about his engagement.

When co-host Matt Lauer asked when the wedding was going to happen, fellow band member Niall Horan joked, "I'm pregnant."

"It's an exclusive to the 'Today' show," Horan added. "I think that's bigger than you guys being in the movie."

The "movie" Horan is referring to is the band's upcoming 3D concert film called "One Direction: This is Us," which hits theaters on Aug. 30 in the United States. The members of One Direction also explained why they decided to make the movie.

"There's only so much you can get on in a social media tweet or in a five minute interview. So, we wanted to really give a behind the scenes, access all areas, documentary into what it's like for us, what it's like for our families and what these guys [the fans] have done, really, in three years," Horan said.

Harry Styles added, "I think you're going to learn a lot about, like, just what we do every day in terms of -- I think a lot of people see us just like this kind of stuff or little interviews. I think you're gonna see a lot more of what we're like when we interact with each other behind the scenes and just sort of, yeah, a nice insight."
