Riverside vocal teacher's duet with Kristin Chenoweth goes viral

RIVERSIDE, Calif.

Luck is said to happen when preparation meets opportunity. And for Sarah Horn, Friday night was when it happened for her. She got the chance to sing "For Good," from the musical "Wicked," alongside Kristin Chenoweth.

"I have sort of rehearsed with her. She had just never rehearsed with me," said Horn.

Chenoweth selected Horn at random for the duet, not knowing Horn is a vocal teacher at California Baptist University, helping to train the next generation of singers.

On stage at the Hollywood Bowl in front of thousands, Horn proved she could hold her own alongside her Broadway idol.

"I was singing for the crowd on behalf of the crowd. I was one of them just a few minutes before, and then suddenly, I am on stage with Kristin Chenoweth," said Horn.

In a way, she'd been preparing for this moment all her life -- she just didn't know it.

"Don't just practice until you get it right, practice until you can't get it wrong and that's what happened Friday night," said Horn. "The words completely left me, but because I had sung the song so many times in high school, it was muscle memory."

Horn's performance has gone viral on YouTube with 1.5 million views. It was a wicked performance with perhaps an encore.

"I would really hope that I would be able to sing with Kristin again, but this time with a little more warning," said Horn.
