Cate Blanchett certainly stood out at the premiere of Woody Allen's new film "Blue Jasmine" in Paris on Tuesday, Aug. 27, and not just because of her naturally stunning looks.
The Australian actress wore a black and nude Christopher Kane Resort 2014 dress with a cobweb-like design, asymmetrical short sleeves and an asymmetrical tulle skirt that reached down to her ankles. She paired the look with pointed, nude pumps.
Allen attended the premiere with his wife, Soon-Yi Previn. Others spotted at the event included cast member Sally Hawkins, as well as French director Roman Polanski, who walked the red carpet with wife and French actress Emmanuelle Seigner. The latter two stars are not involved in the making of "Blue Jasmine," which has already been released in the United States.
The movie stars Blanchette as Jasmine and Alec Baldwin as her significant other Hal, a millionaire later exposed as a corrupt businessman. Hal is sent to jail and commits suicide. She meets another millionaire, a politician named Dwight, played by Peter Sarsgaard, and opts to try to hide her past from him. Hawkins plays Jasmine's sister, Ginger.
"Blue Jasmine" also stars comedians Louis C.K. and Andrew Dice Clay as well as Bobby Cannavale of "Boardwalk Empire" and Max Casella of "The Sopranos" and "Doogie Howser M.D." fame.
