Eric Michael Samuel, 37, was taken into custody at his Moreno Valley home in the 17000 block of Andalusian Court on Tuesday.
Lakeside Middle School administrators contacted Perris police about him in May. Investigators say Samuel took photos of female students in class, focusing on their chests and buttocks, without the girls' knowledge.
A search of his computers turned up child pornography. Detectives also recovered weapons and cellphones.
Samuel was arrested Tuesday, but the complaints were made in May.
It's the second time something like this has happened-in less than five months. In April another teacher at the school was arrested for allegedly trying to seduce one of his students. The school district says the incidents are unrelated.
Samuel was booked at the South West Detention Center and is being held on $5,000 bail.
Both teachers are no longer employed by the school district. Both of them are expected to have court dates later this month.
