Television host Mario Lopez and wife, Courtney Mazza, have welcomed a baby boy, the second child for the couple, OTRC.com has confirmed.
Mazza gave birth on the evening of Monday, Sept. 9, 2013 to son Dominic Lopez. The couple announced in February 2013 that they were expecting a second child to join their 2-year-old daughter Gia.
The TV personality tweeted to his more than 800,000 Twitter followers his excitement for his newborn son, saying, "It's a boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please welcome Dominic Lopez to the world! Couldn't be happier. @CourtneyMLopez & baby are just fine. :)"
The "Extra" host was on the set of FOX's "The X Factor" when his wife went into labor, nearly missing the birth of his son, tweeting, "Whoa.. Cutting it close. Just wrapped @TheXFactorUSA & I'm rushing to the hospital. Baby Lopez #2 is coming tonight! Baby better wait for me."
He followed up with a photo of himself and Mazza in matching hospital gowns, tweeting, "Waiting for the Dr. @CourtneyMLopez & I are ready to go! Is it a boy or a girl??? #BabyLopez."
The 39-year-old former "Saved By The Bell" actor wed Mazza on Dec. 1, 2012 after first meeting her in 2006 when they starred on the Broadway revival of "A Chorus Line." He has worked as the host of the syndicated entertainment show "Extra" since 2007 and returns as host of FOX's "The X Factor" on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013.
