Jurupa Valley investigation nets stolen guns; arrests made

JURUPA VALLEY, Calif.

Officers began an investigation on July 12 following a vehicle burglary in the 9800 block of 56th Street. The victim reported that shotguns were taken from the vehicle by the unknown suspects.

A follow-up investigation was initiated in September after officers received additional information. A search warrant was then obtained for a residence located in the 4000 block of Twining Street.

The search warrant was served by officers on Sept. 13 around 4 p.m. The stolen shotgun and additional stolen property taken in separate thefts across Jurupa Valley and Riverside were recovered during the service of the search warrant.

Joshua Larsen, 22, and Melissa Larsen, 50, both of Jurupa Valley were arrested and booked into jail at the Robert Presley Detention Center.

The 22-year old was booked for felon in possession of a firearm, possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of burglary tools, under the influence of a controlled substance and for his participation in a criminal street gang.

She was booked for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

No details on the connection between the two suspects have been released.
