Miss America 2014 was crowned during a live show that aired on ABC from Atlantic City, New Jersey on Sunday, Sept. 15.
The winner beat out 52 other contestants for the crown, a $50,000 scholarship and a year-long run as Miss America. She will get to tour the United States and attend fundraisers and public events to raise money and awareness for the Miss America Organization's official charity, the Children's Miracle Network. Nina Davuluri of New York was crowned Miss America 2014. Crystal Lee of California was the first runner-up, while Miss Oklahoma Kelsey Griswold came in third place.
UPDATE: During a press conference, Nina Davuluri has responded to racist and other negative remarks made over her win online.
"The Bachelor" host Chris Harrison and "Good Morning America" co-anchor Lara Spencer hosted the evening's festivities live from Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. Celebrity judges on the panel included former 'N Sync member Lance Bass, former New York Knicks player Amar'e Stoudemire, Grammy Award-winning violinist Joshua Bell, "Shark Tank" investor Barbara Corcoran, comedian Mario Cantone, "The Chew" host Carla Hall and former Miss America Diedre Downs Gunn.
Miss America 2013 winner Mallory Hagan of New York was on hand to help crown Nina Davuluri as the winner.
