Bakersfield traffic stop shooting: 2 suspects killed, 2 officers wounded

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.

Bakersfield police officers attempted to make a vehicle stop at the Four Points Sheraton at 5101 California Avenue at about 12:34 a.m.

A shooting ensued shortly afterward, with gunfire exchanged between the vehicle's occupants and several officers, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.

The two occupants of the vehicle were both struck and killed. One officer sustained a moderate, non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his head. Another officer suffered a non-shooting-related injury.
