Huntington Beach sexual assault suspect sought

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.

A woman jogging on August 28 in the area of Huntington Village Lane and Center Avenue noticed a man following her at 6:45 a.m. The suspect then sexually assaulted the woman, ripping her shorts before she got away, police said.

On Friday, Sept. 13, two sexual battery attacks were reported between 10:40 a.m. and 11:44 a.m. in the area of Bella Terra Mall. Police said one incident occurred in the lingerie department of the Burlington Coat Factory. The other occurred near the parking structure at 7777 Edinger Avenue.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic man about 23-27 years old, standing about 5 feet 10 to 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing about 140 pounds, with short dark hair, wearing a light gray T-shirt, dark jeans and black shoes with orange laces.

The suspect description matched in each of the three incidents. Huntington Beach Police released a composite sketch and surveillance pictures of the suspect.
