OTRC: Emmys 2013: Anna Gunn of 'Breaking Bad' wins Supporting Drama Actress

Anna Gunn has won the 2013 Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama Series for her role as Walter White's wife Skyler in the AMC series "Breaking Bad," marking her first Emmy win and second nomination.

The 45-year-old native of New Mexico, where the show is set, beat Emilia Clarke of HBO's "Game of Thrones," Christine Baranski of CBS' "The Good Wife," Morena Baccarin of Showtime's "Homeland," Christina Hendricks of AMC's "Mad Men" and last year's winner, Maggie Smith of PBS' "Downton Abbey."

"Breaking Bad" debuted in 2008 and stars Bryan Cranston as White, a former high school chemistry teacher who becomes a crystal meth "cook" and later, a drug kingpin. Gunn plays his wife and mother of his two children. She also gets involved in a money laundering business to help him conceal his identity and protect their family and grows to despise him. Gunn was also nominated for an Emmy for her role in 2012.

"Breaking Bad" is set to end next week, on Sept. 29, after five seasons.

The 2013 Emmy Awards ceremony was held at L.A. Live's Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 22. The event was hosted by "How I Met Your Mother" star Neil Patrick Harris, who previously hosted the ceremony in 2009.
