"Dancing With The Stars" contestant Bill Nye has suffered the first public injury of the new 17th season, OTRC.com has learned.
The 57-year-old, who rose to fame as the star of "Bill Nye, The Science Guy," was was injured during his performance on Monday night and is "currently seeking medical attention," an ABC spokesperson said in a statement to OTRC.com.
UPDATE: Bill Nye injured his knee and shared a photo - check it out. He said he and partner Tyne Stecklein plan to dance next week on "Dancing With The Stars," which has seen contestants bow out due to injuries in the past.
Nye and Stecklein spoke on camera to OTRC.com after their performance (watch video, above). Nye did not indicate he was injured at the time.
On Monday's show, Nye and Stecklein performed a Paso Doble dance and earned the fewest points out of the 12 contestants but survived elimination. Read a recap of the episode.
