Could she get any cuter? Sandra Bullock made silly faces and goofed around with comedienne and talk show host Chelsea Handler as the actress immortalized her hand and footprints in cement at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on Wednesday, Sept. 25.
Bullock wore a sleeveless, high-neck purple and lime green floral knee-length dress with a pencil skirt and lavender pumps at the event, which she dedicated to her 3-year-old son, Louis.
Handler performed some comedy material about Bullock at the ceremony and later posed for pictures with Bullock while wrapping her arms around her from behind.
"Nobody ever says anything negative about Sandy because she's America's Sweetheart and she never gets any bad press and I'm sick of it. She's stupid and I want America to know it. She curses, she drinks and she thinks George Lopez is funny," Handler said, referring to Bullock's friendship with the comedian and actor.
"The first time we met, we were naked in a shower together and for someone whose movies have grossed over $3 billion, you'd think she could afford a little laser hair removal," Handler continued, referring to a nude shower skit she and Bullock starred in for her E! talk show "Chelsea Lately." "She also sometimes curses in German, which for a nice, Jewish girl like me, can be very scary."
"Yes, this is for my son"
Handler then switched to a more serious tone, calling Bullock an "amazing" sister, daughter, mother and friend. Bullock is a single mother of Louis, the son she adopted in New Orleans in 2010, just before she got divorced.
"Yes, this is for my son," the actress said at the ceremony. "And I'm grateful for him and so, this way when he's 16 and he hates me, I can take him to this moment and say, 'look, people said really nice things about your mother but Chelsea did not.'"
"And that is why she's here -- to always remind us, we cannot get too big in our own shoes, except if they're really cute shoes, then it's OK," Bullock added. "But the women who blazed the trails before me, these handprints and footprints are here."
The ceremony took place nine days before the release of the 49-year-old Oscar winner's latest project -- Alfonso Cuaron's new movie "Gravity," which sees Bullock and George Clooney play characters who become stranded in space after an accident. The movie is set to hit theaters on Oct. 4. Posters for it were splashed behind the podium where Bullock and Chelsea spoke.
