Richard Gere and his wife Carey Lowell have separated after almost 11 years of marriage, reports say.
A rep for the 64-year-old actor declined to comment. People magazine on Wednesday, Sept. 25, quoted a friend of the couple as saying that the pair have split and will "do everything possible to keep things amicable and put their child first," following a report by the New York Post's Page Six.
No divorce filings have been reported. Gere and Lowell, a 52-year-old actress who has appeared on shows such as "Six Degrees" and "Law & Order," wed in November 2002 and are parents to a 13-year-old son.
Lowell also has a daughter from a previous marriage to actor and director Griffin Dunne, her second husband. Gere was previously married to supermodel Cindy Crawford from 1991 to 1995. They have no children together.
