Blake Lively is gearing up to embark on a new business venture that's vastly different from her years as Serena van der Woodsen on "Gossip Girl."
The actress tells Vogue UK that she will launch her own lifestyle company in the coming months, focusing on the starlet's many passions outside of acting.
"It's something that will be launching in a few months and that I'm really, really thrilled about," Lively said to the magazine. "The main element of it is that it's about storytelling and it's about living a very one-of-a-kind, curated life, and how to achieve that. There's nothing like it out there -- it's without genre."
"I have so many passions outside of acting and things that I grew up being good at and that I don't utilize when acting," Lively continued. "Acting was something that my family did so I just kind of got into it by default, but there was so much that I cultivated, thinking that I wouldn't be an actor."
The "Savages" star cites her marriage to actor Ryan Reynolds in 2012 and the end of the popular CW teen soap opera "Gossip Girl" as her main inspiration to create the company at this point in her career. However, the actress assures fans that her film career is far from haulted.
"A lot has changed for me in the last year," Lively said. "I got married, I finished 'Gossip Girl' after six years, I had my first break in a while and I've been working on this company. It has been nice to have a separation from my show. The first film I did coming out of 'Gossip Girl,' I wanted it to be different from anything I've ever done but also representative of where I want to go, because now I'm in a different place."
Lively was a series regular on "Gossip Girl" throughout its six season run from 2007 to 2012. She has become a renowned fashion icon and has starred in several films including "The Town," "Savages" and "Green Lantern," where she co-starred with now-husband Reynolds.
